PKK terrorist organization’s decision to dissolve and lay down arms during its 12th Congress held on May 5-7, 2025 continues to be debated in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).
A heated argument took place between DEM Party Deputy Group Leader Gülistan Koçyiğit and GOOD Party Deputy Group Leader Turhan Çömez in the General Assembly of the TBMM.
“THEY ARE THE ONLY GROUP THEMSELVES”
In his speech at the TBMM, Koçyiğit claimed that advocating for peace is considered a crime in Turkey, stating, “The only country where advocating for peace is considered a crime is Turkey. The only group that classifies advocating for peace as a crime is themselves (GOOD Party). We will defend peace no matter what, even if it costs us our lives.”
“YOU ARE NOURISHED BY KANDIL”
In response to DEM Party member Koçyiğit’s words, GOOD Party member Turhan Çömez stated, “We will stand against terrorism. We will continue to stand against it. We will object to those who meet with terrorists, take orders from terrorists. We will object to the imperial extensions behind terrorists and terrorist organizations. While we want everyone in this country to be equal and first-class citizens, living in peace, you are nourished by Kandil. You have not been able to even once condemn terrorism. Shamelessly, you accuse us of fascism under the roof of this parliament. You are with the killers, with the terrorists. You are with the 50,000 killers in this country and you expect help from them.”
